Not only has she established several successful non legal businesses, she is the founder of HW Legal before it merged to become HW Legal Solicitors & Co with Emerald Court Chambers. She is a dedicated and empathetic individual with a deep passion for justice and fairness both on the legal platform and in society.

Hauwa Shehu is a fearless advocate and accomplished barrister, called to the Bar in 2013 by the Honourable Society of Inner Temple. With over a decade of experience across common law and civil litigation, she handles cases from simple disputes to complex High Court and Court of Appeal matters in the UK and internationally. Her specialisms include civil, contract, charity, family, employment, housing, probate, EU, public, and human rights law, as well as non-contentious work such as drafting and legal opinions.
Hauwa began her career in criminal justice and has expertise in cross-jurisdictional cases, legal policy, and legislative drafting. Clients value her dynamic approach, empathy, and commitment to achieving the best outcomes.
