As part of our support for our charity of the year, St John's Hospice in Lancaster, a quiz evening was held at the Eagle & Child pub in Staveley on Friday 27th January.
The quiz was organised by our resident quiz supremo Jean Cowling - from our Windermere office - with the help of her husband Steve. The evening was well attended, with a mix of staff members, friends and family - and a good night was had by all.
The landlord of the Eagle & Child, Richard Coleman, and his wife Denise, very generously offered the room for nothing AND provided a delicious hot pot supper for everyone free of charge because the evening was raising money for the hospice.
The quiz raised almost £450 and thanks go not only to those who attended, but to Jean for organising it all and to Richard and Denise for their generosity in hosting the evening.
