NEW NATIONAL MINIMUM WAGE RATES

National minimum wage increases take effect from 1 October 2010 as follows:-
Adult Rate (21 and over) - £5.93 per hour
Development Rate (18-20) £4.92 per hour
Youth Rate (16-17) £3.64 per hour
Apprentice Rate £2.50 per hour
Do remember that the ages have changed a little so that the Adult rate applies to people 21 and over, not 22 as before, which has a knock on effect to the Development rate which now applies to 18-20 year olds. Also note the new Apprentice Rate.
