  Peter Briggs

 

Peter has been with   Hayton Winkley since leaving University and has been a partner since 1978 . He specialises in company & commercial work – in particular property development and hotel and leisure industry. Peter is married with two children and lives in Kendal. He enjoys the outdoor life and the recreational activities the Lake District affords. He is also a keen skier when he gets the chance.

 

John Oldroyd

John qualified in 1978 and joined Hayton Winkley in 1982, becoming a partner in 1984. He specialises in family and children work and has been a member of the Law Society's Children Panel since 1991. He also sits as a Deputy District Judge. John is married with two children and lives in Kendal. He is a fanatical Burnley football supporter, and enjoys walking and amateur dramatics.

 

 

                              Naomi Fell

Previously a partner with a firm in Cheshire, Naomi joined Hayton Winkley in 1986 and became a partner in the firm in 1996. She specialises in commercial conveyancing, particularly the development of land and sales and purchases of businesses, and general company work. Naomi is married with four children and lives in Sedbergh where her husband is the vicar. She is a keen swimmer and dog walker, and enjoys watching Rugby Union. 

 

 

 

 

 

Keith Wood

 

 

Keith has practised with Hayton Winkley at Windermere since leaving law school, becoming a partner in 1984. He is a member of the Law Society's Family Panel and also specialises in company and commercial work. Keith is married with two children and lives in Windermere. He is interested in building, property renovation, walking and cycling.

 

 

Lyndsey Parkinson

 

 

 

Lyndsey qualified in 2003 and joined Hayton Winkley in May 2007.  She works with Naomi Fell and specialises in commercial conveyancing and landlord and tenant work.  Lyndsey is married with two children and lives in Hornby, near Lancaster.  When permitted by work and family commitments, she likes to read and swim but prefers relaxing!

 

 

 

                             Suzie Fisher

 

 

Suzie joined Hayton Winkley in 1986 and qualified as a Legal Executive in 1993. As well as dealing with general litigation and licensing, she specialises in personal injury work and is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. Suzie is married with two children and lives in Kendal. In her limited spare time she enjoys reading and cooking.

 

 

 

 

                               Mark Drasdo

Specialist probate and trusts lawyer, Mark Drasdo, joined Hayton Winkley in August 2003 and became a partner in the firm in August 2006. He has many years experience in preparing wills and Powers of Attorney and administering estates. In addition to his qualification as a solicitor, Mark is also a member of the Society for Trusts and Estate Practioners, a professional body for experts dealing with this area of legal work. Mark is married and lives near Windermere with his wife and two dogs. He enjoys walking and tries to enjoy running, recently having completed a number of half marathons.

 

 

Nick O'Mara

Nick qualified as a solicitor in 1980.For the last twenty years or so he has worked as a sole practitioner in Northumberland, and has extensive experience of residential and commercial property work. He is married with two step-children and a grandson, and has moved to the Lake District with his wife to enjoy the scenery and the walking. He likes to travel and to read and, of course, to go walking on the fells with his dog.

Jean Cowling

Jean joined Hayton Winkley in 1986, after working in publishing for 11 years, and she has dealt specifically with probate matters since 1988. Jean has two sons and lives in Staveley. Her interests include cross stitch, cryptic crosswords, pub quizzes and football (spectating only!).

 

              

 

                          Gail Escolme

 

Gail was a stenographer until 1999 when she joined a large Preston practice and qualified as a solicitor, specialising in Employment Law. She joined Hayton Winkley in 2004 and is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association. Gail believes in a "sleeves up and work together to solve the problem" approach to the law and works to build good and solid relationships with her clients. Gail is married with 3 children and lives in Warton. She enjoys reading and walking.

 

 

                           Stephen Read

 

 

 

 

 

Stephen qualified in 1976 and was previously a partner in another local firm. He joined Hayton Winkley in 2003 and specialises in domestic conveyancing. Stephen is married with two daughters and lives in Levens. In his spare time he is a keen local historian and would like to get out walking and cycling more.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kate Seymour

Kate is a specialist commercial property and conveyancing lawyer who qualified in 1999 and joined Hayton Winkley in 2007.  Kate is married with two children and lives in Sedbergh. She is a keen walker and novice runner. Kate is a fluent french speaker and enjoys french camping holidays with her family.

Leonard Hayton

 

Len was one of the founding partners of Hayton & Winkley (as it was then) in the 1960's and for many years dealt mainly with probate and trust matters and agriculture. He remains a non-practising consultant with the firm.

 

 

Andrew Bromley

 

Andrew originally came from the Wirral area and was with Hayton Winkley since the late 70's dealing with residential conveyancing and commercial matters. He remains a non-practising consultant with the firm.

  Gillian Storm

Gilly joined Hayton Winkley in 2004 and is a Para-legal, dealing with divorce work. She has worked in litigation for 12 years. She lives in the Eden Valley with her husband and three children. In her spare time she enjoys reading, cooking and walking her dog.

 

Zoe qualified as a certified para-legal in March 2006 - having started working in a solicitors' office as an office junior 10 years earlier. She deals mainly in residential conveyancing. Zoe lives in Levens with her husband Paul and in her spare time she enjoys reading and sings with a local choral society.

Alison Hine

 

 

 

Alison worked for a building society before joining Hayton Winkley in 1986 as cashier and general office manager. She qualified as a Chartered Secretary in 1993 and is now practice manager. Alison is married with two sons and spends what spare time she has involved in amateur dramatics and musicals.
